Different Types of Classroom Resources
There are many different resources which can be used to support educators in Early Years settings. All of our products are designed in-house and focus on the aspects of a child’s journey that really matter: care, development and growth.
With such a broad product offering we hope this blog post will help to explain each of our product categories and highlight the benefits of having these resources in an Early Years setting.
Carpets
Our extensive offering of carpets covers every eventuality for an Early Years space, from placement and themed carpets to outdoor mats, with plenty of size options.
Placement carpets come in a wide variety of sizes and styles to suit any learning environment and are perfect for group discussions and quiet reading activities, with clearly defined placement areas. Some of these are themed with popular characters such as our Back to Nature™ bug range, whilst others have plain or neutral colours for a more adaptable option.
Our themed carpets cross over into others key areas of learning, designed specifically to support various areas of the EYFS in a fun, interactive way. These include Chloe the caterpillar for number and letter recognition, as well as mini carpet tile designs for more hands-on learning.
A more recent addition to the range is our indoor/outdoor options, the ultimate flexible resource. Our unique indoor/outdoor backing ensures resources can be used in any setting, increasing their usability and value to the learning environment.
Outdoor Products
Outdoor resources are a fantastic way to take your teaching outside and get some much needed fresh air. It is now well researched that learning in nature can help with children’s focus and concentration, as well as making learning inclusive for those children who struggle with enclosed classroom environments. Our outdoor range consists of outdoor only as well as indoor/outdoor products, offering a wide variety of options sure to suit any requirement.
Our carpets suitable for outdoor use only are made of lightweight Tuf-Loop™ pile making them easy to transport and share between areas or classes, whilst our range of washable Rainbow™ mats are supplied with holdalls or lockable trolleys for easy manoeuvrability and storage.
A number of our other products can be used outside, but not stored outside. They include our PVC cushions and seating options. The heavy duty PVC ensures they are durable for outdoor use whilst being easy to clean once moved back inside.
Soft Furniture
Our soft furniture offers a diverse range of seating options from traditional seating to floor cushions as well as plush items. Educators can create a woodland themed reading corner with our Natural World™ range, a tactile and sensory experience with our plush soft toys and convenient seating arrangements with our donut cushions and accompanying storage trolleys.
Soft Play
Soft play offers children the opportunity to learn through play. Activity kits are made in vibrant colours with various shapes to spark children’s imaginations. Included in our soft play offering is our award winning Getting Ready Cube which is fantastic for aiding children’s development of fine motor skills, and our Mirror Cube to help with self awareness and shape recognition.
Tables & Chairs
Built to an exceptionally high quality, our range of tables and chairs are designed for stability and longevity. Our classic wooden framed rectangular and trapezoidal tables are the go-to for any learning environment while our innovative height adjustable themed tables offer multiple options to encourage peer to peer and teacher interactions. Our height adjustable tables come in a variety of shapes and colours suitable for any learning space. The height can be adjusted in increments of 25mm from 430 to 635mm, making them suitable for use across multiple age groups.
Trolleys
Storage trolleys are a must in any busy learning environment, ensuring a tidy, safe atmosphere for learning to take place. A mix of metal and wooden lunchbox and cloakroom trolleys are built to withstand rigorous daily use while our donut and Tuf 2™ trolleys provide convenient, easily moveable storage options for seating.
Rest & Changing
From folding sleep mats to welded changing mats, our rest & changing range offers multiple options to suit any Early Years environment. Made from stain resistant, wipe clean vinyl they are perfect for maintaining hygiene no matter how frequently they are used.
